We are seeking a 3rd Shift Assistant Supervisor in our Whitewater plant.  The main qualifications for this position are a desire to learn more about manufacturing environments and the ability to function in a leadership role with a diverse workforce.  The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for working with and supporting the department supervisor in the efficient operation of the assembly area to meet the customer order requirements as well as the safety and OEE expectations established by management.  He/She will provide strong leadership to the team, managing according to the established policies and procedures to meet customer specifications and demand. 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the shift, including all production and support departments, to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
  • Perform line audits, inspect molded and purchased raw materials, ensure proper labeling for containers
  • Participate in departmental continuous improvement projects.
  • Respond to production problems with production personnel to assure a continuing flow of product.
  • Train, coach and enforce Lavelle’s policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with employees, supervisor and scheduling on production requirements and/or issues
  • Create daily job assignment schedule for employees and adjust rotation schedule as needed

  • Conduct responsibilities in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations as well as Lavelle Industries policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to employees, including performance feedback.
  • Maintain discipline through employee adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate a team approach and encourage employee involvement in continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior leadership & manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to work on an extended work week or weekends.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain certification to operate a fork lift.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office and familiarity with associated production paperwork.
  • Ability work in a manufacturing environment for long periods of time, including walking, bending, sitting, standing and lifting 50 pounds (with assistance).
  • A collaborative demeanor, able to create teamwork and mutual respect between departments and shifts.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, procedures and production/quality standards.
