What You Will Do
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be part of a 25+ person team and be responsible for:
- Reviewing designs and specifications to understand the project installation
- Preparing commissioning plans and commissioning checklist documents
- Performing field inspections
- Providing daily reports
- Communicating status regularly to the client and internal management
- Identifying discrepancies and updating punch lists
- Witnessing equipment startups
- Attending factory acceptance tests
- Coordinating with contractors and vendors to conduct field testing
- Working with the project team to resolve issues
- Working with the testing and balancing contractor to ensure systems are properly balanced
- Participate in the vendor training process
- Preparing final commissioning reports and turnover packages
- Organizing and executing work within project budgets and schedules
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or A.S. degree in engineering or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree
- Demonstrated strengths in HVAC, BAS and/or Electrical Systems
- Strong computer skills, proficient with MS office applications
- Strong communication skills
- Able to commute to multiple job sites during the work week
- Overnight travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, Healthcare or Laboratory industries
- Some prior commissioning experience
- Technical writing
- Relevant experience in the field of construction, startup, and/or design
