STREET LIGHTING LEAD

Terry’s Electric provides construction and maintenance services to Utility Companies throughout Florida.  Our Street Lighting Division supports new installations, maintenance, repair and retrofit of lighting and control systems provided by the Utility.

Terry’s Electric is committed to training and growth of our employees in order to meet the most current safety standards and equipment operation.  We train and certify our technicians for OSHA, Bucket Truck, Digger Derrick and MOT as well as sponsor qualified persons to attend the FEAT apprentice program.

We are currently seeking a Street Lighting Lead for work in Orlando and adjacent suburbs.

General Job Description

As a Street Lighting Lead, your responsibilities will include installing, replacing and repairing street lighting, install underground wiring and boxes, as well as installation of new street lighting poles.  You will also be terminating wiring connections on live circuits using required protective gear.  You will be a lead on projects with the assistance of an electrician, trainee or helper.

  • Troubleshoot power and control circuits
  • Set poles and hand holes
  • Interpret plans to create material requisitions and determine required resources to complete the task
  • Construct and install street lighting control devices

Job Knowledge

  • Have advanced knowledge of the tasks required to perform on all phases of electrical work in accordance with the power company standards and National Electrical Codes
  • Understand, communicate and train hand signals required for equipment operation
  • Ability to operate a bucket truck

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a street lighting electrician or similar field
  • Possess a valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Have no issues with heights or working from a bucket truck
  • Able to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to operate a bucket truck
  • Requires ability to work for extended periods of time in the heat and direct sunlight
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
