Van Maanen Electric, Inc. is currently seeking a Directional Boring Operator in Iowa. The starting pay for an experienced Directional Boring Operator is $33/hr. Van Maanen Electric, Inc. one of Iowa’s leading electrical contractors. We cover most areas of the electrical construction field including commercial, residential, industrial, service, low voltage, and agricultural. Van Maanen Electric was started in 2004 and has grown to over 150 employees since then. There has never been a layoff since we have opened our doors, with average work weeks consisting of 40-48 hours. Job Duties

  • Lead & operate directional boring machine
  • Operate new Vermeer equipment
  • Local work, no overnight travel
  • No winter layoffs (winter work consists of working in the shop maintaining equipment)
  • Work in a great team environment
  • 40+ hours/week with overtime available

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen/physical/ extensive work fit test as well as a background check
  • Previous experience is helpful, but not necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and means of transportation
  • Strong work ethic/ attitude
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to work alone as well as in a team setting
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 120 lbs
  • Must show up on time everyday
  • Must be reliable and dedicated to the work
