Summary

The Assistant Director Quality shall be responsible to the Director of Quality for the overall state of the company's Quality and Inspection system and efforts.

Responsibilities

1.    Review the selection, discipline and release of personnel assigned to the Inspection Department.
2.    Supervise the Inspection Department, including permanent personnel, records and clerks, and other personnel who may be assigned inspection duties on a temporary basis.
3.    Assure the airworthiness of all company and customer aircraft in accordance with the provisions of the appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and take responsibility for the training of all inspection personnel.
4.    Maintain a current list of contract Maintenance Agencies and ascertain that they 
      are properly equipped and qualified for the work they perform for the company.
5.    Establish and supervise an up-to-date file for Federal Aviation Regulations, AD Notes, Aircraft Specifications and Service Bulletins.
6.    Maintain records of all work performed by the Repair Station.
7.    Establish, monitor and improve maintenance and inspection procedures that assure company and customer aircraft will be maintained in a safe, efficient and economical manner.
8.    Coordinate with the Federal Aviation Administration's local representatives all activities on which the approval of the Administration must be obtained, including changes of Operations Specifications and/or manual changes as they apply.
9.    Monitor continuously the shop's ability to accomplish maintenance functions and utilize the information obtained.
10.    Maintain an adequate supply of manuals, with up-to-date revisions, used by the company in maintaining aircraft in an airworthy condition.
11.    Assure certification of all parts and materials used in the repair, modification or overhaul of all aircraft, components and constituent parts.
12.    Ensure that the calibration of precision tools is recorded and maintained.
13.    Institute improved inspection procedures and methods that would tend to improve the quality and economic efficiency of maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in training, education and/or experience. A&P License required.
  • 5 years Aerospace experience, 5 years Management including 5 years Maintenance Management.
