Position Overview: The Payroll Administrator will be involved in the full cycle of payroll and will ensure accuracy and efficiency of the payroll function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Receives and evaluates the accuracy of time sheets submitted by each company department each week and contacts supervisors or individual employees when needed
•Computing payable hours, overtime wage hours, bonuses, tax withholdings, per diems, garnishments, and other deductions
•Works with project managers to ensure phase codes for jobs are correctly submitted and recorded
•Processes two weekly payrolls
•Issues paychecks and manages direct deposits.
•Records personal days, sick leave, vacation, or absences and contacts employees regarding discrepancies.
•Answers employee questions about payroll, leave amounts, tax forms and other compensation issues when necessary
•Coordinating with Benefits Administrator and HR Director to ensure correct employee data
•Ensures certified payroll data is calculated correctly and submits certified documents to customers
•Enters information into the payroll system about employee taxes, exemptions and garnishments
•Enters 401k contributions, matches, and enters loan deductions into third party vendor
•Files weekly payroll taxes
•Processes and distributes annual W2’s
•Responds to employment verifications
•Assist with other projects as needed
•May be assigned other responsibilities
Education and/or Experience:
•2+ years of Payroll experience preferably in a construction based environment
•High school diploma required
•2+ years of customer service experience preferred
•Associates Degree preferred but not required

•Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch, Dexter Chaney experience preferred
•Thorough knowledge of applicable payroll systems
•Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

•Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
•Ability to perform mathematical computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately.
•Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills
•Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
*Bi-lingual is preferred but not required
Physical Demands:
•Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, sitting, walking, use of hands to finger keys
•Required to talk or hear
Environmental Working Conditions:
•Office environment with multiple employees. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
