What You Will Do: Our summer interns work in a variety of capacities including design, construction inspection, material technician, and survey crew work. Design work includes assisting civil engineers and other design staff in preparing, editing and labeling project designs in Civil3D and/or MicroStation. Construction inspectors perform field observation, verify compliance with plans and specifications, prepare pay estimates, and produce project documentation. Material technicians perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregate and concrete. Survey crew workers assist crew chiefs in attaining thorough and accurate data collection and set construction stakes on multiple construction sites.
What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will be enrolled in a four-year or two-year technical school, college or university majoring in civil/environmental engineering, civil technology, land surveying, or related field. You must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and have the ability to get to various worksite locations. You must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and various terrains associated with construction projects. You must be at least 18 years old. Our preferred candidate will have completed at least one year towards a four-year or two-year technical school, college or university majoring in civil/environmental engineering, civil technology, land surveying, or related field. Each position has additional physical requirements which will be explained during the hiring process.
