Directly supervise and coordinate activities of a bridge construction crew. The Foreman may also engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan out each day and communicate to the crew members what activities are to be accomplished.
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Bridge Manager and Safety Manager if needed.
- Coordinate, direct and lead workers engaged in the construction activities.
- Supervise crews to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride.
- Review and verify employee time sheets for accuracy before submitting to the timekeepers/Payroll.
- Analyze and resolve worker issues. If the problems are around harassment, work with Human Resources to develop a plan of action.
- Communicate with maintenance staff about maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs.
- Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.
- Follow daily Foreman procedures and protocols as set forth in orientations and trainings.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in bridge construction.
- Strong coordination, time management, active listening and reasoning skills required.
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and to work toward the solution of those issues.
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years of related skill, knowledge and experience in bridge construction.
- Must be able to read, understand and apply information obtained from blueprints, surveys and job specifications.
- An unwavering focus on safety.
- High School or G.E.D diploma.
- College degree a plus.
- 3-5 years of management or supervisor experience.
- Heavy Equipment operations and Mechanic skills.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
|
- Walk, bend, kneel, climb, lift, stretch and sit.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to work long hours daily (14 +).
