We have an opening in our Operations Team (Burlington, WI) for a 3rd Shift Assistant Supervisor (11 PM - 7 AM Sunday-Thursday) focused on supervising and coordinating the activities of manufacturing workers engaged in operating a variety of machines, conducting inspections and performing secondary assembly and packaging of parts and products. This individual will support the Department Supervisor in the Press areas to meet the customer order requirements, as well as safety and OEE expectations. A team-oriented, technologically-inclined individual with experience with ISO standards, Lean, Kaizen, and Kanban is ideal.

Responsibilities:

  • Team job assignment
    • Create the daily job assignment schedule for the department
    • Revise the schedule as needed to ensure optimal production
    • Establish an overall employee assignment strategy
  • Communication to production team regarding performance expectations, performance needs and safety standards along with line auditing and issuing NCR's
  • Enforcement of work rules and safety policies including initiation of disciplinary process
  • Review operator weekly performance report and coach operators on standards
  • Production Reporting - entering receipts, heats, etc.
  • Review of stock and component availability for upcoming jobs and identification of shortages
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events
  • Oversight of training according to the plan established by the Supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Participation in training and progress reporting to the Supervisor
    • Evaluation of new hires and temporary agency staff
    • Coaching both trainers and trainees per the plan and Company methodology
    • Assignment of new operator training
  • Problem-solving team work, cross functionally with Process Techs, Process Engineers, Supervisors and Operators to solve process issues, tactical questions or concerns and safety
  • Product Quality Improvements: product and process defect identification, enforcement of quality standards, error proofing, root cause corrective actions, and audit value reinforcement
  • Performance: work rule compliance, on time delivery, ownership or housekeeping and improvement project charters
  • Daily Management: daily program planning, follow through and reporting, communication of expectations, team feedback, and corrective actions
  • Team member development: recruitment of new talent, training of practices, evaluation of training program effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or some technical school preferred
  • 5 years Manufacturing experience with ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Willingness and ability to work an extended work week or weekend
