
Encon is seeking a talented HVAC Installation Apprentice with field routes throughout Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island.
This is an entry-level position for candidates seeking to learn the trade of HVAC – previous experience or schooling is helpful but not requires. You will work and learn alongside master HVAC and sheet-metal professionals on the job. We offer exposure to in-house classroom training and a custom innovative laboratory for training extensions and practice!

Job Responsibilities
- Work on construction sites to help and support HVAC technicians that are installing the systems.
- Move tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Assist the installers in basic installation support and learn the basic install techniques.
- Complete ad-hoc duties as assigned by management & foreman.
- Participate in safety and planning meetings.
- Ad Hoc requests as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Must be able to work on a construction site with early start hours (usually around 6am)
- Must be willing to do physical work – lift up-to 50 pounds, move materials and equipment, etc.
- Excellent attendance is an essential function.
- Able to follow direction and have good interpersonal skills.
- Passion for learning the trade of HVAC.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Construction, HVAC or sheet-metal experience helpful, but not required.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be willing to report to office in Stratford, CT and work from the field throughout Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island.
- Employment/education will be verified.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Encon is a drug free workplace and requires post-offer pre-employment drug testing.
- Must have or purchase hand tools (list will be provided upon hire)
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Eligible to work weekends and nights as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a variety of extreme weather, hot and cold conditions.
- Able to work safely in confined spaces such as attics, basements, closets, and crawl spaces.
- Able to work safely at elevated heights such as rooftops, ceilings, and ladders.
- Able to bend, crawl, stoop, stretch, and reach.
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Able to work off a ladder, sometimes at heights.
- Able to safely lift 50 pounds.
