Are you a self-starter with a propensity for improving environmental impediments to enhance native ecosystems? We’re seeking an innovative environmental professional who is passionate about environmental protection and assisting with a growing workload that is centered in delivering creative environmental solutions to our Western and national clients. Success will be defined by your professional capabilities to develop and nurture client relationships.
On any given day, you’ll:
- Perform project management duties associated with ecological/natural resources projects.
- Work with professional and technical staff to determine target markets/clients and develop a program to establish relationships and build a book of work.
- Contact clients, attend meetings, assist in project and client intelligence and strategies, and participate in trade show and client related activities.
- Provide technical guidance, prepare project proposals, attend project interviews, participate in presentations, negotiating hourly estimates, fee proposals and contract documents.
- Schedule and monitor projects, and other duties to ensure successful delivery and positive financial performance of each deliverable.
- Work on project teams on selected tasks in support of broader internal or external goals and deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in biology, environmental science, or applicable related sciences.
- A minimum of five years of relevant ecological/natural resources consulting experience and/or project management experience.
- Contacts within the ecological and natural resources community, client development capabilities, and registration in an applicable professional discipline.
- Experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reports (CatEx, EA, EIS) for one or more agencies, biological assessments (BA), habitat conservation, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, habitat delineation, and Ecological Risk Assessment.
- Willingness to travel (some overnight stays) in and out of state.
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Desired skills and experience:
- A self-motivated, team-oriented individual with superior written and verbal skills with ability and willingness to work both independently or collaboratively as necessary.
- Interest and experience in ecological and environmental quality and protection regulations; including (NEPA, ESA Section 7 and 10, BA’s, Clean Water Act, wildlife, protected habitat, and wetlands.
- Experience working with federal and state agencies and understanding of guidance including: United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Parks Service, and state and local conservation districts.
- Well-connected with proven client development, project management, and staff supervision capabilities.
