Job Purpose:

From arrival to departure the Guest Ambassador will oversee our guests experience by providing courteous and professional service during their entire stay. The Guest Ambassador welcomes all guest and opens/closes all vehicle doors during guest arrival/departure, provide advice, directions, luggage assistance for arriving/departing guests in a friendly, courteous manner to and from their accommodations, transporting their luggage. Guest Ambassador will be responsible for parking and retrieving all valet vehicles with a sense of urgency and safety to ensure the drive is accessible at all times in order to create a quick arrival/departure guest experience.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·Greets guests immediately with warm hospitable smile and welcome using a clear and courteous speaking voice; retrieves guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts. Grasps, lifts, carries and/or loads luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items inside the hotel and introduces them to the Guest Service Agent.

·Responds immediately to customer inquiries regarding hotel features, services, and assistance.  Provide clear and understandable direction to hotel facilities, restaurants, and lounges and nearby attractions from the guest services pod.   

·Responsible to cover duties of doorpost, key coordinator or driver response to customer/ hotel needs.

·Clearly communicates guest parking procedures, applicable cost to arriving guest, valet retrieval procedures and issue the proper valet ticket for hotel guest.

·Performs valet services which include; issuing and completing valet ticket, performing valet vehicle damage survey, and utilizing the full use of valet parking technology.

·Performs inventory on valet cars and adjust key boards to reflect current vehicles in garages

·Initiates request to taxi cab companies upon request by phone or curbside.

·Navigates bell cart through public areas, guestroom corridors, and to elevators.

·Acquaints each guest with room and features and assists with room changes, reservations in hotel restaurants and or local restaurants and local attractions. 

·Reads and matches luggage tags, writes claim tickets and detaches portion to give to guest.

·Retrieves messages and communicate the content to the guests. Retrieves and logs mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested.

·Escorts customer to accommodations, visually inspects room and telephone and deficiencies such as towels, HVAC, or any other visual apparent items needing attention and ensures they are immediately reported.

·Picks up and delivers guest laundry to and from guest rooms in a timely, accurate manner

·Cleans, Sanitizes, polishes carts along with other equipment in the department and maintains a clean front drive area.

·Answers phones and provides information as needed.

·Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

·Attends, as well as schedules and conducts departmental meetings.

·Reports all unsafe conditions immediately.

·Keeps work area neat and organized.

·Assists other departments, as needed.

 

 

OTHER DUTIES

 

·Additional languages skills helpful.

·All Housekeeping, general cleaning is the responsibility of each Team Member

·All Drug/Alcohol and harassment policy must be followed.

 

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety.  The hotel will provide the required PPE.  Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE.  It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

   

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential function for the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

·Ability to listen, and communicate effectively.

·Read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to communicate in Spanish helpful.

·Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

·Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

·Ability to push/pull cart/ table weighing up to 150 lbs.; grasp, lift to waist and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

·Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing for an extended period of time.

·Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential job functions for an extended period of time.

·Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and solve customer concerns.

·Ability to drive all types of vehicles with either standard or automatic transmission.

·Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

·Ability to follow written/verbal instructions in order to meet deadlines.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

 

EDUCATION:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

No prior experience required.

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

Valid Texas Drivers License.

Clear driving record preferred.
