Emtech has been doing business in the DC Metro area for 30 years.  From the beginning, we have been selling and installing Honeywell products exclusively.  We are trained and authorized by Honeywell.  We are committed to developing long-term relationships with our customers through a dedication to building systems knowledge and expertise. 

We are a turn key operation, all of our Engineering, CAD, and panel construction is done in house.  This allows us to keep our overhead down and our pricing competitive.  We are also licensed Electrical and Mechanical Contractors. 

 

Job Summary:

 

The entry level position will be responsible for building control panels and assisting in the field. We're looking for a willingness to learn and offer many oppurtunities to advance. Product Line training is available for people with good technical and communications skills.  Computer skills and HVAC knowledge is a must.  Emtech offers a competitive compensation package and advancement opportunities. Job Functions:

 

  • Punctuality and attendance are crucial
  • Detail and goal oriented
  • Interpret control drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Assist with point to point checkout, startup, and commissioning on assigned projects.
  • Utilize hand tools, laptop, and test equipment on site.
  • Wire control panels
  • Tests and verifies control panel wiring.
  • Download controllers and verify panel I\O

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift and carry 75 pounds
  • May be required to push a load across the floor of 150 lbs
  • The job requires walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, twisting and turning for the better part of 8 hours
  • Must be able to use hand for fine manipulation of hand tools

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of BAS controls experience. Experience with Honeywell controls a plus.
  • Possess a general understanding of control theory and control concepts.
  • Proficient with understanding wiring diagrams. 
  • Must be comfortable working with computers
  • Possess a general understanding of control theory and control concepts.
  • General knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, towers, chillers,  electric, CO, air flows, VAV systems, etc. 
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and transportation
  • Currently a US citizen.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision
  • May need to pass customer security requirements/background checks

Additional Skills Desired:

  • Working knowledge of CAD and\or Visio
