A mining and construction contractor in Spokane Valley is looking for an Accounts Payable Coordinator/Accounting Assistant.
Responsible for heavy accounting duties and light administrative work. Ensures client and vendor files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable, performs administrative functions to support the office as a whole, and assists management with other tasks and ad hoc projects/reports as needed.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process and maintain accounts payable system - cost accounting and project accounting experience is a major plus
- Input invoices and bills using accounting software
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support the organization
- Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation issues and discrepancies
- Provide assistance and support to management and staff
- Answer phones, sign for packages, open mail and handle other clerical tasks
- Maintain office filing system for records
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate degree in Accounting or three (3) years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work autonomously
