JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Sales Associate you will be an ambassador of The Hershey Company and an integral part of the customer experience. You will be responsible for supporting and executing the day-to-day operations of the business. You are the first point of contact with our customers and the driving force behind our exceptional customer experience. As a Sales Associate you are expected to connect with and sell to our customers, while maintaining brand standards and upholding the policies set forth by both Dylan's Candy Bar and The Hershey Company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience, by always communicating information in a manner that is friendly, fun, and consistent with brand standards
  • Meet individual, team, and department goals that drive the overall success of the store
  • Model the four service skills laid out in customer service training
  • Take in-the-moment feedback from the MOD adjusting behaviors as needed
  • Handle all cashier duties with a high level of accuracy
  • Understand and promote current in-store promotions and events
  • Maintain store standards that support the visual presentation direction and enhance the customer shopping experience; recover and replenish the store as needed
  • Escalate any issues/complaints to store management in timely and effective manner to minimize negative impact on customer experience
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by consistently treating all customers, guests, and employees with respect
  • Remain up-to-date on all policies, procedures, and guidelines set by Dylan's Candy Bar and The Hershey Company

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous flagship and/or high-volume retail experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Must be friendly, outgoing and confident with an ability to easily build rapport when meeting new people
  • Ability to work a fully flexible retail schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervisor
