Terry’s Electric provides construction and maintenance services to Utility Companies throughout Florida.  Our Tampa Division supports installation of Surge Protection devices to Commercial & Residential Customers for Tampa Electric.

We are currently seeking a SURGE PROTECTION INSTALLER for work in Tampa and adjacent suburbs in the Tampa Electric territory.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Surge Protection Installer, your responsibilities will include driving the Utility Company territory to install surge protection equipment.  You will be required to remove electrical meters to install the surge device, or open panels to install hard-wired surge devices.  You must also possess basic computer knowledge to be able to receive orders, log in and out of calls, and complete tickets using a customer provided computer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Service Electrician or Commercial Electrician
• Basic computer skills and able to learn to log calls into the Utility Company maintenance program
• Ability to interact with customers and provide a superior customer experience
• Able to work with little or no supervision while completing the required number of installs per day
• Willingness to work during all types of weather
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures utilizing company provided PPE
• Requires ability to work for extended periods of time in heat and direct sunlight
