Job Statement: Responsible to work with our existing customers and help grow our Controls and Mechanical business in the Northwest PA, Southwest NY and Eastern Ohio region.  In this position you will estimate/negotiate projects and Service Agreements for our Facilities Solutions Department including Building Automation & Mechanical Services. You will also be responsible to assist other departments on strategic team sales.  Provide consultative sales to our clients and work with our business partners to maximize services. 

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Renew existing Controls & Mechanical Technical Professional Support Agreements
  • Negotiate and sell new Agreements that best fit the customers’ needs
  • Design, plan and budget capital projects for clients
  • Assist architects and engineers to design and build the best solutions for their customers
  • Work with our Mechanical Equipment specialists to sell Air Handling Units, Chillers, Rooftop Units, etc. to contractors and customers.
  • Assist our Energy Services Group as necessary to secure and implement Energy projects in the region.
  • Develop a sales plan and budget
  • Develop estimates for negotiated and competitive projects
  • Conduct Service Agreement kick off meetings
  • Join & participate in trade associations such as ASHRAE, BOMA, SOBG, NW PA Facility Managers, PSBA & PASBO, etc.
  • Work with local Mechanical and Electrical Contractors on Design Build projects
  • Conduct a quality kickoff meeting on all bookings for operations staff
  • Maintain highest ethical standard at all times
  • Promote all other SmartEdge product & service offerings to develop leads generated by other SmartEdge sales reps.
  • Develop partnerships with electrical Subcontractors to ensure best competitive pricing on jobs.
  • Promote Smart Buildings.  Continuously identify technologies that will promote SmartEdge as the solution for Integrated Buildings.  Identify products SmartEdge can furnish for a total solution.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • BS preferred or at least five years’ experience in technical sales, estimating or project management.
  • Previous experience with Automated Building Controls and HVAC Mechanical systems extremely beneficial.
  • Previous experience in the plan and specification market very important, including 4 years technical sales experience.
