Position Summary:

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of an end-dump truck with a tarping-system.  Drivers will haul waste from transfer stations to company-owned landfills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Thorough operational knowledge and skills of operating a commercial motor vehicle and related equipment to be operated.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must keep time and material records.
  • Must follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates, asphalt, or other material.
  • Must have maneuvering and backing skills.
  • Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
  • Must maintain driver’s daily logs.
  • Connect and disconnect trailers.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate using two-way radios.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A with appropriate endorsements.
