LOCATION: INTERNATIONAL (LOCATIONS VARY)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages field operations for an assigned area in order to achieve a satisfactory, orderly level of production by crafts and subcontractors. Enforces all relevant safety and quality control policies and procedures in assigned area. Ensures that work meets the owner’s expectations, produces satisfactory profits, meets time limitations and contractual requirements.

  1. Works closely with project manager, as required, in formulating, discussing and finalizing the overall plan of operations, job layout, job schedule, etc.
  2. Manages the day-to-day work of crafts and subcontractors in field, delegates work through foreman and/or subcontractor representatives. Must work with subcontractors of different cultures and languages to ensure quality and minimize re-work.
  3. Maintains regular communications with project staff to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule.
  4. Reviews plans and specifications of job, job budget, and estimate with project manager and project superintendent to ensure that quantities, values, manpower requirements and deliveries of various divisions of job are understood.
  5. Participates in weekly progress meetings with subcontractors.
  6. Assists in preparation of plan at beginning of job, for receiving, storing and handling materials as required.
  7. Assists in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
  8. Maintains best possible relationship with owner and architectural-engineering firm associated with job. Strives to develop spirit of cooperation and respect between Caddell and representatives of the other partners on the project.
  9. Performs additional assignments per project manager’s direction.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum high school diploma/GED and 15 years total construction management experience required. Four-year degree in building science, construction management or engineering and 10 years total construction management experience (at least 15 years total construction management experience) preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and management skills required. Requires excellent technical and management skills. Strong client relations skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage costs and control schedule. Excellent knowledge of safety requirements. Ability to coach, lead and motivate multinational and multi-disciplined employees. Shows leadership, concise execution of plans, vision of project future, and effective communication of vision to subordinates, integrity and strong communication skills.
