The likely salary range for this position is $100,000- $130,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. There is a possibility that this position could be remote for the right candidate.
Job Description
- Manage VMware Infrastructure/vSphere clusters on Production, Corporate, and Test/Development environments.
- Build, Test, and Maintain new VM's.
- Work with System owners and fine-tune VM configurations to get the best performance/resource utilization
- Detection of VMware issues, monitoring, and ownership of standards and requirements.
- Participate in capacity planning for the infrastructure.
- Provide tools and procedures for resources provisioning.
- Document processes and procedures.
- Propose VM provisioning solutions to be analyzed and/or implemented.
- Evaluate and apply version updates to ESX hosts and vulnerability patches as needed.
- Develop and implement test plans to verify installation, upgrades or repairs, including back-out plans.
- Manage and Maintain Hyper-V environments
- Manage and Maintain VDI environments. This includes both Citrix XenApp and Horizon view VDI solutions.
- Provide support for physical hardware that the virtualization solutions reside on.
- Maintain the daily operations of the OCIO Production VMware environments
- Provide technical expertise for design, maintenance, and diagnostics for the VMware environments
- Support other top tier VMware products like vCenter, Horizon, vRealise Operations, and Site Recovery Manager
- Participate in supporting the Citrix Environment for customer.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of Unix/Linux.
- Working experience with vSphere systems administration and support, including storage migrations, and P2V migrations.
- Strong focus on vSphere capacity planning and performance tools.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to provide after-hours support occasionally as necessary.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Initiative to research and resolve problems.
- Candidate should possess or be pursuing their VCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes on VMware vSphere is a strong plus.
Experience Requirements
