Position: Member Advisor

As a Member Advisor and, you’ll be responsible for using standardized account management tactics to partner with our sales team to promote corporate products to MRA members and prospects over the telephone.

You will with our Member Relations Managers (Account Managers) to communicate with members to generate: 1) New Business, 2.) Member Retention, 3.) and Prospect Referrals.

These team members will be located in either our Plymouth, Minnesota, and Waukesha, WI offices. A hybrid remote work schedule may be an option once your training period has been completed.

As the Member Advisor, you get to :

  • Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Translates customer needs/requirements into recommended solutions provided by MRA.
  • Leads the proposal process for Inside Sales opportunities from introduction to close by working with the Line of Business Leader and Member Relations Manager.
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into qualified leads and sales.
  • Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Provides membership demos to qualified customers on request.
  • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices, and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Utilize standard dashboard reports to identify opportunities to grow and retain business.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into Salesforce.
  • Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities up to date.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
  • Travels to and attends trade shows or See and Be Seen visits.

  • Work with MRA's internal IT team to troubleshoot technical issues when needed. 
  • Travel to and attend trade shows or visits with our sales team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid sales skills and ability to uncover effective customer solutions.
  • Solid teamwork skills.
  • Shows initiative – engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities to serve/retain members and grow the business.
  • Adaptable – respond effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite included Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with a CRM, (Experience using Salesforce, is a plus)
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
