The Position

The IT Support Supervisor with network administrator duties position is in Charlotte, N.C and reports to the Group IT Infrastructure Manager. In this role, you will have a proven track record of leading people, a solid understanding of various network administrative duties and act as the primary point for your location.   

 

This position will have two important roles.  First, you will lead a team of 2-3 people in North Carolina and support all aspects of a construction environment with multiple locations.  Secondly, you will have network administration duties as part of a larger team in the US.

 

Supervisor Duties

  • Manage a team of 1-4 individuals to help drive efficiencies and add value to the company
  • Create, review and triage support tickets on a timely basis to team
  • Resolve Tier 2/3 issues to meet 85% or greater SLA levels
  • Vendor management and purchase responsibility
  • Perform personnel duties for team including annual goal setting, weekly/monthly feedback, final annual review, approval of PTO and other management duties to ensure a cohesive team
  • Be the primary point of contact for your locations and prioritize work for the team
  • Report to senior management to ensure alignment with department goals and priorities
  • Strong communication skills are required with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Track and generate reports on a monthly basis for outstanding issues
  • Coordinate with vendors to execute software and firmware upgrades
  • Communicate with users, vendors and IT in a professional manner
  • Attend meetings as required and provides regular and accurate status information to project participants/department leadership
  • Mentor team and others to grow technical and business skills
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as required
  • Follow management guidance, adhering to IT policy and procedures
  • Work various shifts, holidays, on-call, and travel as required
  • Collaborate with peers across the globe to ensure alignment with parent company IT strategy

 

 

Network Duties

  • Assist with system administration tasks, including server upgrades, updates, patches, deployments, architecture review / design and general best practices
  • Create clear, concise process and system diagrams and other supporting documentation
  • Accountable for the successful operational performance of your location as a whole and work in a team for the health of the network for the US operations.
  • Work with vendors on fiber design and internet support
  • Install and support LANs/WANs, firewalls, network H/W & S/W, segmentation and switches
  • Experience working in windows and virtualized environments
  • Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to appropriate users
  • Maintain IP address management
  • Maintain a detailed inventory of all network devices
  • Ensure all network devices are maintained at supported patch levels; all security vulnerabilities must be patched according to company policy
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
  • Use ITSM system for change management and incident management

 

 

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific degree or equivalent experience in role
  • Minimum 3 years Supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years of networking experience
  • Certifications desired: CCNA & CCNP
  • Comprehensive understanding of networking technologies, firewall and windows environments.
  • Knowledge of common protocols SNMP, TCP/UDP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, Kerberos, and RADIUS
  • Proven experience leading teams and mentoring others
  • Progressive, relevant responsibility throughout your career
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently

Physical Demands.  The following physical demands are representative to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Periodic physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to periodically stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
  • Employee may need to lift 40lbs of equipment
  • Travel to locations to assist users or deploy systems as needed – with covid safety protocols in place
  • This position is primarily normal M-F working hours but may require some on call or after hours work
