As a Project Engineer I you will work closely on a variety of projects with a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to learn, develop and grow. You are a key factor in ensuring the quality of our work product.

Position Commitments:


Safety – “Adheres to all Safety Protocol”
•    Follow all OSHA, EPA and ODH policies and procedures
•    Follow all company and site specific safety and health program policies.
•    Actively participate in accident/incident investigations.
•    Ensure compliance of Subcontractors/team members as it pertains to OSHA standards and all HGC safety and Pre-qualification guidelines.
•    Immediately notify the HGC Safety Department and Supervisor of all accidents, injuries, and near misses.
•    Thoroughly understand and enforce the HGC Safety Program.


Job Knowledge – “Understands and has experience with the work performed.”
•    Work according to and ensure others work according to Project Blueprint.
•    Study and understand the basic scope, plans and specifications of assigned projects.
•    Understand and use bidding take-off tools.
•    Understand HGC Master Subcontractor Agreement (MSA) and related standard exhibits.
•    Understand each assigned project’s close-out process.
•    Learn and understand Viewpoint basics.
 
Work Product – “Amount and Quality of work produced.” –
•    Work according to HGC standards and produce quality outcomes.
•    Attend pre-bid walk-throughs for assigned projects.
•    Assist Pre-construction Department in the bidding process.
•    Assist in review of subcontractor bids.
•    Participate and contribute in bid day review meetings.
•    Assist Pre-Construction Department with the set-up of Building Connected to use as a bidding tool.
•    Update drawings and specifications in Procore and shared G: drive.
•    Make follow-up calls to potential bidders.
•    Update project information and directory in Procore.
•    Assist in preparing project logistics plans.
•    Attend subcontractor Scope Review Meetings.
•    Assist with assembly of and track Owner and Sub change orders with appropriate approvals.
•    Request and track subcontractor and supplier Submittals and Product Samples.
•    Prepare letters of intent for Project Lead’s signature.
•    Create and update procurement and other project management logs as requested.
•    Create SAFE Forms for assigned projects as a part of buy-out process for Project Lead’s approval.
•    Prepare and track RFIs as directed by Project Lead.
•    Track project permits for HGC and trade subcontractors.
•    Prepare meetings minutes for assigned projects.
•    Collect and track close out documents for assigned projects.
•    Assemble and prepare final closeout documents for client.
•    Assist project team on the development of as-built drawings.
•    Assist with punch-list process to ensure timely completion by all parties.

•    Make follow-up phone calls for project as necessary.
•    Attend and participate in Project Meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field such as Engineering.
•    1-2 years’ experience as a co-op or in the commercial construction field.
•    OSHA 30 complete within 30 days of hire.
•    Ability to work according to our Blueprint for our Culture.
•    Completion of the FAST Safety Training - Level 5 within 90 days of hire.
