WWJD is a Joint Venture between West Wind Reinforcing, LLC and J.D. Steel Company, Inc. specializing in placement of reinforcing steel in Micro Chip Plant Construction Projects.  We currently have Projects located in Phoenix and Chandler, Arizona and have job openings at all levels in the reinforcing placement industry.

This posting is for a Project Safety Manager position that will start in late 4th quarter of this year and last approximately 18 months.

Job qualifications include:

  • Professional recognized certification (EG: CSP, CIH. CHST), or have a 4 year degree from an accredited university in the field of safety engineering, or have demonstrated and equivalent level of qualification and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction safety and 3 years of Safety Program Management experience, In addition it is preferred that this individual have an OSHA 500 Training certification and/or the ability to demonstrate skills for training workers in construction safety practices.

  • Using Microsoft Office Programs.

Job duties include:

  • Aid in the collaborative effort of Owner, Contractor, other subcontractors and craft workers in developing and implementing a program to align the project’s Injury and Incident Free Culture (IIFC) goals with the construction activities of the project.
  • Provide training or ensure that each employee has an appropriate level of knowledge and demonstrated competencies to meet OSHA and Project site requirements. This training includes, but is not limited to, Confined Space Entry, Scaffolding, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (Scissors Lifts & Boom Lifts), Energized Electrical Hot Work (EEHW), Forklifts, Lock-out/Tag-out Control of Hazardous Energy (CoHE), Ladders, Crane Operations to include Rigging and Signaling, Fall Protection and Hazard Communication.
  • Keeping of Training Matrix.
  • Organizing daily crew safety meetings.
  • Administering a “Buddy Program”.
  • Ensuring Task Planning, Pre-Task Planning, JHA.
  • Maintaining Safety Records and Incident Reporting.
