Minnesota Rubber and Plastics acquired Pawling Engineered Products in June, 2021. Pawling Engineered Products was a family owned business originally part of Pawling Corporation (which was founded in 1946), and is now its own company with facilities in Pawling, New York USA.

Job Description

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is a change agent for process and quality improvements. The ultimate goal will be to improve ease and reliability of manufacturing, shorten turnaround times, and improve company margins utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques. Through a hands on approach, this role will have a singular focus to help drive continuous improvement in the Pawling Engineered Products business located in Pawling, New York.  

Responsibilities

  • Use and implement Lean Manufacturing processes throughout the company, develop lean skills within the organization through events and training. 
  • Engineer process improvements utilizing CAD and other tools to advance tooling, fixtures, space/cell layout.
  • Manage multiple lean projects directed at reducing waste and improving quality, including the planning and implementation of Kaizen Events.
  • Identify potential areas of process and product improvement; study current practices; develop plans to advance areas.
  • Ensures safety and ergonomic considerations are made relating to equipment, process and plant layout.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or 4+ years of continuous improvement experience
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment through implementation of and expertise with the latest lean and six sigma management methods
  • Experience in both manufacturing and transactional environments dealing with technically complex products
  • Strong background in elastomeric processing; extrusion, molding and splicing, preferred
