Tool Room Clerk
This position oversees all equipment, tools, and material in the Collins Electric tool room. This role supports field and job site construction activity through the maintenance and management of all company tools. Further, the tool room clerk assists in greater warehouse functions and responsibilities. Additional responsibility in coordination of registration, inspection, maintenance, and general upkeep of company vehicle fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Issue tools, kits and equipment to electricians and job sites
- Coordinate tool usage between job sites
- Manage maintenance schedules of company vehicles
- Ensure return of issued tools, kits, and equipment back to the tool room after use
- Check for damage of tools and perform repair when possible
- Ensure replacement of tools as needed
- Organize tools and equipment on shelves and racks for easy access
- Keep well-informed of advances in tool technology and design
- Maintain and manage tool room clerical functions
- Preserve and update records of tool room equipment, tools, and kits
- Maintain tool room equipment manuals, processes, and operational guidelines.
- Operate fork-lift and other heavy equipment when necessary
- Assist warehouse with delivery of tools, equipment, and material to job sites as needed
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with construction tools
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Experience in construction a plus
- Ability to test and perform minor repairs on tools and small engines
- Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
Requirements:
- Driver’s License (CDL is a plus)
