Job Description

The role leads the logistical workflow by analyzing, developing and implementing process improvements that maximize service while improving cost.

Organizational Development

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed to deliver disciplined, consistent and aligned freight and logistics protocols.
  • Interface effectively with other functions to understand functional group or customer needs and propose ideas to exceed expectations (Commercial, Finance, Purchasing, Prod Dev) as measured by weekly 360 degree feedback.

Logistics Excellence – Core Support

  • Develop and present monthly reporting tools with key metric targets, which provide insight and analysis of site freight performance, identify opportunities and corrective actions for improvement.
  • Lead in facilitating and managing freight and 3PL contracts and transportation requirements, ensuring discipline and accuracy to requirements and process.
  • Manage international express, air freight, ocean “Less than Container Load”, and ocean “Full Container Load” shipments; audit and approve express, air, and ocean carrier invoices against set contract and service rates.
  • Identifies and analyzes root causes of issues and works with logistics partners and quality to develop solutions and performance improvement measures to reduce transit damage errors and improve claim recovery process.

Logistics Strategy – Growth

  • Support key initiative aligned with Sales, Customer Service and Operations to develop a detailed corporate logistics model.
  • Provide business analysis support of future acquisitions focused on identifying and quantifying logistical and inventory management synergies.
  • Lead and Support Import / Export Coordinator to ensure compliant global trade.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in supply chain and/or transportation management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Import/Export experience preferred
  • Customs work with USMCA and 301 tariffs experience preferred
