 Salary Range: $15.00-$25.00

 Reporting Relationship:

  • Directly reports to Supervisor and Owner

 Hours/Shift:

  • 8AM-4PM M-F (Overtime Opportunities)
  • On call weekend rotation every 6 weeks

 Position Summary:

  • Service Plumber/Drain Cleaners clear clogs from various types of drains and pipes such as floor drains, sinks, tubs, toilets, and urinals. You typically use equipment like electric snakes, high-velocity water jets, and sewer cameras for inspecting drain lines. More advanced positions have responsibilities involving technical service, such as repairing underground sewers and drains using excavation methods. Other duties include fixing frozen lines and steam thawing. You must maintain a safe work environment by following company rules and any state or local policies.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all service calls in a timely manner.
  • Handling a variety of plumbing emergencies efficiently and professionally.
  • Being polite and respectful of clients and their homes at all times.
  • Installing pipes, drainage systems, sinks, toilets, and heating and cooling systems.
  • Fully evaluate the situation and share repair options with the responsible party.
  • Obeying health and safety codes at all times.
  • Obtain written authorization to proceed with accepted recommended repairs. Communicate with the responsible party to ensure that job/tasks are completed to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Complete authorized repairs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete invoices to include customer’s name, billing address, onsite contact information, if different from billing customer. Perform repairs and installation of fixtures and/or equipment that meets or exceed current plumbing codes.
  • Provide a comprehensive description of work performed, materials used, time charged and recommendations for future work.
  • Check all work performed before leaving the premises to ensure that job/tasks have been completely correctly.
  • Verify payment will be made at the time of completion of services rendered.
  • Collect payment due from responsible party before leaving jobsite.
  • In account receivable situations, the billing status must be verified prior to start of work. Assist as needed in instructing apprentices about proper installation and service of products and current code regulations

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):

  • Must understand English in a competent manner in order to clearly communicate questions, instructions or safety concerns to coworkers, supervisor, and those they supervise.
  • Sound knowledge of water, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strength and dexterity.
  • A polite manner and excellent customer service skills.

 

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate or evidence of experience in a construction-oriented business may substitute on a year-to-year basis for educational requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • A valid driver’s license and clean MVR

 

 

 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Essential physical demands include and are not limited to the following:
  • Must be able to safely lift, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, push/pull, walk and stand for continual and extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 – 100 lbs. and over 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. or less on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to balance and safely use ladders on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to safely work at heights, overhead or in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in both cold and hot conditions.
