Assistant to Subcontract Administrator

Railroad Construction Company Inc. (www.Railroadconstruction.com) is an employee owned organization 
(ESOP) that performs work on complex construction projects, primarily in the mass transit sector.  
As an ESOP, employees are awarded shares of stock in Railroad, annually, through our employee stock 
ownership plan.

We have an opening in our accounting department in the subcontract administration area.  This 
position interfaces with various departments in the company including project management, 
purchasing, compliance, risk management and accounts payable.  The last person who was in this role 
was promoted into our payroll department.  We’re looking for a co‐worker who is well organized, 
possesses good communication skills, has intellectual curiosity and is looking to grow their 
skills.

Job title:  Assistant to Subcontract Administrator Job duties include:
•    Issue and enter subcontracts and change orders Viewpoint Vista accounting system.

•    Work hand in hand with Risk Manager to make sure all subcontractors have required insurances 
in place before start of work and ensure certificates of insurance are submitted and maintained 
throughout the entire project.

•    Maintain certificate of insurance control to remind subcontractors to provide up to date 
certificates of insurance prior to expiration.

•    Work with Compliance Department to ensure that subcontract agreements are executed and in 
place prior to start of work.

•    Work with Accounts Payable Department to ensure that all releases and required documentation 
are in place before payments are released to subcontractors.

This is an entry level position and we will provide the training needed to help our new co‐worker 
succeed in their job.
