Osborne Construction Company is an employee-owned general contracting firm with offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Redmond, Washington. Construction Laborer

  • Compensation: FLSA Status Non-Exempt
  • Location: Eielson AFB, Fairbanks, Alaska (reporting to various project jobsite locations)

Position Summary

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with others onsite
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations, statutes, ordinances, rules and laws
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other related activities as assigned
  • Provide your own work boots appropriate for the work activity
  • Must be willing to travel, if required

Essential Experience

  • Ability to obtain a base pass for working onsite
  • Ability to read, write and communicate as it relates to the work activity and safety regulations
  • General knowledge of construction methods, materials, and operations
  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent

Physical Demands

  • Heavy: 
  • Exerting 10—20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects;
  • 25—40 lbs. of force frequently, and
  • Employees are required to use lifting equipment or seek assistance for anything over 40 lbs.
