Position Summary

Assists project personnel in planning, directing and coordinating activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.  Provides technical information to company supervisor and contractors to insure work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.  Assists in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems, referring them to Project Engineer.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre-construction phase as needed, i.e., plan outline, etc.
  • Assist project personnel in planning, directing and coordinating activities of designated project
  • Assist in carrying out a variety of basic field duties at the job site related to general construction
  • Assist Project Engineer with Project Punch list and Project Closeout plan
  • Must be able to plan and schedule construction scopes and sequence activities
  • Exhibits moral and ethical behavior in all business and personal activities in accordance with Osborne’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct Policy
  • Follows company safety policies and procedures
  • Must be willing to travel, if required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, construction science, architecture, or engineering
  • Surveying background required, familiarly with Trimble surveying equipment and machine control.
  • On site layout from project plans and specifications
  • Must be willing to work long hours.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required traverse uneven ground and work in trenches.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Field engineers are hands-on and spend a lot of time both in the office and out at the physical construction site.
