Job Description
We are seeking a motivated entry level geotechnical professional for the Woburn, Massachusetts (Boston) office for tasks including geotechnical explorations and construction observation, waterfront projects, design and remediation of dams and levees; geotechnical instrumentation; geotechnical design for infrastructure, bridge, and building projects. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from our staff and gain a wide range of experience.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Observe field explorations and construction activities.
- Perform geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Develop spreadsheets and databases, conduct technical analysis, and assist with preparation of CAD files.
- Perform geotechnical analysis, computations, and design, and present data and results.
- Write letters, reports, and construction specifications.
- Assist with proposals and business development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering is required. M.S. is a plus. Geotechnical course work preferred.
- Ability to perform field work on construction sites without restrictions, in inclement weather.
- 0-3 years of experience.
- E.I.T. is desirable, and ability to work towards professional registration.
- Working knowledge of CAD and other common software. Experience in Civil 3D or GIS a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing to travel on temporary assignments as necessary, including field assignments.
- Valid driver’s license.
