Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee Helpdesk and Network Services staff; ensure that internal users are supported regarding hardware, software, and system access.
  • Review Viking’s change logs to ensure that both external and internal staff document activity appropriately.
  • Review product implementations for efficiency and security.
  • Review change logs to ensure policy is followed.
  • Analyze and report on trends from Helpdesk data to identify issues.
  • Ensure procedures are up to date to ensure that user interaction with the network follows Viking’s policy, as well as industry standard best practices.
  • Proactively assess the need to upgrade systems and equipment. This includes end of life or business needs relative to current capabilities.  Research options, including cost and make recommendations, to the Manager of Information Services of any upgrades needed.
  • Act as Project Manager during changes to IT infrastructure by internal and external staff.
  • Business Continuity: Use diagrams to identify redundant systems and single points of failure.
  • Maintain an active inventory of hardware including location and stock number.
  • Annually oversee a physical inventory.
  • Support the ISO, executive and sales teams in responding to security audits.
  • Ensure that security is addressed in the implementation of solutions.

 Ideal Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in IT, or related field of study or equivalent. 
  • At least 4 years of IT Infrastructure experience. Prior management experience preferred.
  • Have strong communication skills, ability to follow-through, and problem-solve; must be detail oriented, organized, self-directed; ability to shift gears quickly to adapt to a changing business environment; ability to maintain confidentiality.
