McAlvain Construction, a Big- D Company, has an opportunity for a mechanic in Boise, ID. The shop mechanic is responsible for efficiently diagnosing and repairing gas and diesel equipment. Interacted professionally with jobsite personnel and co-workers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to keep assigned rental equipment in peak condition. Diagnosing and repairing gas & diesel ran equipment back to a near new condition.
- Create work orders in the software tracking system.
- Order parts from various vendors and place correctly on opened work order.
- Keep workspace organized, clean, and safe.
- Complete daily reports and weekly summaries for supervisor to communicate information, address issues and concerns, and satisfy customer needs.
- Attend business unit meetings as required.
- Provide professional and relative feedback for improvement of layout, equipment needs, and increased productivity and efficiency.
- Represents Big-D Construction in a professional and ethical manner that promotes the goals and values set forth by the company.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires High School Diploma or GED. 3+ years’ experience with construction equipment, customer service, basic computer skills, and construction services. Must have valid Utah driver’s license with excellent driving record.
