7 days on 7off camp based role - both days and nights

Job Summary: 

Are you a Process Instrumentation – Electrician Technician looking to grow your career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an exciting opportunity for you! Jervois mining offers a dynamic work environment with an outdoorsman’s paradise in Salmon Idaho.

The Process Instrumentation-Electrician Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks performed within the processing facilities consisting of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical circuits, program instrumentation, networks and associated equipment. Completes tasks assigned by Process Maintenance Supervisors or Process Maintenance Superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to write schematics and specify new installation parameters.
  • Using test equipment to diagnose, high, medium, and low voltage circuits.
    Complete most preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Installing programmable logic controllers (PLC), Allen Bradley, GE, and ABB, VFD's including RSLogix 500 and 5000.
  • Responsible that all new installations and repairs meet overall safety, MSHA and NEC requirements.
  • Inspect and monitor instruments to ensure proper operations and report any deficiencies while mitigating or eliminating the hazard.
  • Collaborates with other Electricians, passes on knowledge and skills to others. May fill in as a relief supervisor as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, as well as interpersonal, problem solving, basic math skills to perform routine measurements and recognize, correct and inform others when the process facilities are not within in the performance plan.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as an Instrumentation Technician in the mining industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems required.
  • Requires a willingness to take on responsibility, challenges and assist in other areas of the processing facilities required.
  • Requires being careful about detail and being thorough in completing work tasks required.
  • Requires and proven safety, reliability, dependability, and fulfilling obligations.

  • Required to walk on un-even ground and to work in inclement weather.
