Eastern States Construction Service, Inc. (Eastern States), a family-owned business since 1953, is a Heavy/Highway and Site Development Construction Company specializing in public sewer, water, site development and heavy/highway construction projects with a roster of major public and private clients, including state and local governments, corporations, regional construction managers and private developers in the Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey region.

We are currently seeking an experienced CDL Driver to join our skilled and dedicated Construction team. The CDL Driver’s primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of a dump truck to transport dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and other materials and/or equipment to and from various job site locations.

Duties include:

  • Operate truck in safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area and at various job sites to safely and efficiently deliver and remove materials.
  • Load and unload equipment or materials.
  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines; check fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork including mileage logs.
  • Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and Company regulations including DOT, and FMCSA.
  • Must keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Valid CDL Class B License required, Class A preferred
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Lowboy and/or Roll Back a plus
  • Hazmat and/or Manual endorsement a plus
  • Prompt and dependable
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instruction
  • Drug screening and background check required
