Tech Etch is looking for an Experienced Commodity Buyer to join our Team! 

Use your experience & savvy to work closely with the engineering & production teams to purchase quality materials for the business: working effectively with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. Negotiate with key vendors for price, payment & delivery terms; and process orders for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services used by our Company to support internal and external customer requirementsAs the primary contact with suppliers, the buyer is instrumental in the supplier selection process including new supplier identification.  Develop and maintain supplier relationships, review supplier performance & address supply issues. 

Additionally, the Buyer will solicit & analyze RFQs of metal sheet & coil stock. Confirming and maintaining the purchase order information in our ERP system, create & maintain part master information in the ERP system, source & vet new suppliers and verify specs & certifications required for purchase of metals. Solicit and analyze requests for quote (RFQs) of applicable items. Evaluate RFQ responses and enter Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP system. Coordinate subcontract activities including: RFQ, PO, traveler review  Analyzing the data of different of received goods & propose optimal solutions on ordering method; monitor min/max levels, reordering points, safety stock levels & focus on overall cost reductions for purchased parts & inventory. The Buyer will meet with vendors for negotiation of pricing & blanket purchase orders when appropriate, assist with reconciliation of logistic/purchasing & finance/purchasing discrepancies. Follow environmental & safety regulations and laws while complying with corporate guidelines on business ethics and all purchasing policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.. Assist with coordinating planning/purchasing/logistics review of raw material stock levels and MRO signal card data.

Required Education and Experience

  1. 1-3 years Buyer experience within a manufacturing setting required.
  2. 1-3 years commodity buying experience (metal sheet or coil stock, electrical components) strongly preferred.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
