We have immediate needs for experienced Construction Material samplers and testers with opportunities both in the lab and out in the field. Positions are available out of our Bismarck, Burnsville, Golden Valley, Northfield, Rochester, St. Cloud and St. Paul Offices. What You Will Do: You will be part of our Contract Administration team and work in the lab, in the field, or both. If qualified, your role would also include construction inspection. If not qualified, but interested, WSB will train you, prepare you and make you successful as an inspector. If interested, your role can include: helping perform verification and compliance with plans and specifications, preparing pay estimates, and producing project documentation for private, municipal, county, MnDOT and federal projects. This would entail maintaining and preparing daily diaries, quantity calculations, backup documentation, letters, memos and spreadsheets. You may also help with proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in design-build, pavement management, or a variety of other technical activities. Opportunities are also available for winter design work with Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Microstation as well as assisting in other engineering disciplines. What You Will Bring: We have roles for all levels of experience, but look for folks who want to better themselves and want to be challenged. People with excellent technical, communication and organizational skills and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record are required. Experience with the following is beneficial, but not required: current MnDOT certifications, MnDOT FieldOps or TRACS, civil engineering construction experience, or material testing experience. A two year technical degree from an accredited school in a field related to civil engineering construction is a plus, and a degree from a four year accredited college will only increase your opportunities and growth.
