Job Summary:

Urban Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experience Cost Control Engineer to monitor and report on a portfolio of transit engineering and construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Track costs and perform monthly updates on costs for a portfolio of engineering design and construction projects on transit properties.
  • Prepare project budgets for all project phases including planning, design, procurement, construction and close out.
  • On a monthly basis, track actual costs, compare actuals to budget, assess trends and prepare estimates at completion.
  • Prepare standard and special cost control reports/analysis to support Project Managers.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of related cost control/cost management experience.
  • Experience with Federal Transit Administration cost and accrual tracking procedures, preferred.
  • Excellent skills with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge of Primavera P6 a plus)
  • Proficient understanding of heavy civil and rail system construction industry practices, such as,
    • construction contracts,
    • labor union practices,
    • management of soft costs including but not limited to, design, program management, insurance and stakeholders’ costs (railroads, utilities, private property owners, etc.).
  • Experience managing multiple funding sources and be proficient in cost control/cost management techniques and applications including cost forecasting and earned value analysis.
  • Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Pay Rate: $65 - $80 / hour

Incentive: $2,000 sign-on bonus. 50% in your first paycheck and the remaining 50% payable following ninety (90) days of employment!
