WSB is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our group Environmental group in one of our Twin Cities locations. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliable, safe and efficient design and operation of community garden scale solar facilities and other renewable projects.
What You Will Do: You will provide project management and technical expertise to support the efforts of renewable developers to ensure they select the best technologies and build reliable and efficient projects; review facility operating data and resolve problems that are affecting facility output; take a lead role in the negotiation of technical aspects of the grid connection agreements with network operators; provide electrical engineering advice during contract negotiation to ensure that the requirements of the grid connection are understood allowing clients to minimize exposure to grid code and other technical and commercial risks arising from grid connection requirements; and maintain knowledge of renewable technologies commercially available (PV panels, thin-film, inverters, wind turbines, biomass, etc.) and provide recommendations on merits of different manufacturers’ products.
What You Will Bring: You will have 10+ years electrical engineering experience in energy-related technologies and applications including power generation, interconnection, transmission and distribution systems; experience in various power generation, transmission, distribution, and equipment selection; a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a Professional Engineer license in Minnesota or the ability to obtain the license within six months; a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Our preferred candidate will have experience in the design, evaluation and operation of photovoltaic solar technologies and facilities.
