Manager – Telematics Program

The Bragg Companies implemented a new, cutting-edge technology from Samsara, Inc., to dramatically improve its’ driver safety program, increase labor efficiency and fleet utilization, and improve fuel efficiency and regulatory compliance. The Bragg Companies are geared towards leading the industry by leveraging this solution that incorporates big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.  We have mobilized a team of detail-oriented individuals to bridge the gap between operations, IT, and the vendor to support the needs of multiple business units across the country and are looking for a new person to lead this group.

 Under the supervision of the CTO and Operations Management, the Telematics Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall vendor management and operational support for the telematics platform for the enterprise’s fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting value from telematics data by developing and maintaining operational processes, creating and drafting reports and measures to aid with operations, and effectively communicate data driven information to management and senior leadership. In addition, the candidate will continuously assess telematics data and provide recommendations evaluating how to improve all aspects of fleet performance.

 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Advance the implementation of Bragg’s three-year-old strategic telematics program, with input from operations staff, branch management and senior leadership, that includes 2,300+ assets and 2,700+ devices.
  • Ensure ongoing engagement and compliance with defined safety and efficiency programs, including speeding, harsh events, fuel efficiency and asset utilization.
  • Partner with operating departments and vendor to evaluate large data sets and identify opportunities to create reports and measures that drive process improvements and help optimize fleet operations.
  • Analyze & interpret data to identify trends and anomalies; use past performance and future expectations to develop accurate forecasting techniques and provide KPIs for data-based decision-making.
  • Provide daily field support for technical, software, application and hardware issues for telematics program.
  • Lead and partner with vendor and internal operating departments to identify and resolve escalated issues and/or promptly close gaps.
  • Deliver on the in-process program for fleet maintenance, including targeted analyses for managing vehicle performance, health and utilization.
  • Supervise a staff of two Telematics Fleet Analysts.

 Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a fleet management environment with telematics hardware, firmware and software. Experience with Samsara telematics is ideal.
  • Demonstrated success contributing to a large-scale software & hardware implementation and effectively teaming with peers, supervisors, and senior leadership to achieve operational goals.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills to effectively develop relationship with staff, clients and various levels of leadership.
  • Great judgment and analytical thought process to solve complex problems with methodical documentation. Ability to cross reference multiple data sources and present intuitive output of bulk
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Adept at interpreting Excel report data using tools like v-lookup, pivot tables, charts and graphs. Experience in applicable data analysis tools (PowerBI, Excel, SQL, Tableau).

  • MS Office 365 including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Data Factory and Logic Apps.
  • MS Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Data Connectors.

 Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Informatics, Data Science or related technical discipline or equivalent
