FANUC America is currently searching for a Controls Engineer to design, develop, debug and deliver electrical controls hardware and software for the customers of the Automation Systems Group (ASG).  Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Work as part of an execution team, responsible for design of controls architecture of a project
  • Program and debug PLC programs
  • Support quoting efforts as required, including estimating controls hardware and software cost
  • Review customer technical specifications to verify proposed solution is in compliance
  • Write controls specifications defining the functional scope of controls and I/O requirements
  • Review and assist with the electrical design process
  • Support integration at FAC, verify hardware/software install, debug PLC and peripherals
  • Support field installation, startup and debug of systems
  • Provide customer training sessions and develop operator manuals
  • Reliable, consistent attendance required

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s degree Electrical, Computer or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in systems engineering, design, assembly, and/or material handling in automation systems
  • Excellent electrical wiring and troubleshooting experience
  • PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley / Siemens preferred / TiA Portal)
  • HMI programming experience
  • Experience with DeviceNet, ENET/IP, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, ProfiSafe, Toyopuc
