Conductix-Wampfler is a progressive, growing manufacturer of mobile electrification products (festoon, slip ring, motor driven cable reels, cord and hose reel systems) looking to add a self-directed,  results-oriented, disciplined, detail-oriented, problem solving Area Supervisor to the Harlan, IA manufacturing team. 

The candidate chosen will perform department related production scheduling, inventory management, new/existing personnel training, interview, hire, work with all departments to resolve product and quality problems, work with engineering to coordinate change orders, perform depart quality activities, ensure safety compliance and will work directly with sales and vendors on quality issues.  The Area Supervisor will strive to continuously improve our business systems.  

Qualified candidates will possess experience in the following:

  • Worked in an ISO certified quality environment
  • Supervision experience a must
  • Safety compliance and knowledge of OSHA 10 or 30 a plus
  • Must have experience creating written procedures, instructions
  • Can actively resolving customer product issues
  • Production and inventory scheduling
  • SAP a plus
  • A.S. in Industrial Technology preferred by not required
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office ( Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) required

SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of manufacturing workers to safely and efficiently build and ship quality products to satisfy all customers. Performs responsibilities and duties as assigned by the CoE General/Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (and any other duties that may be assigned):

Works with MRP Controllers to create schedule timelines and departmental workloads to ensure sales order shipment dates are met.

Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space for each customer order.

Plans flow of materials through the plant, including the development of the physical layout of the plant, to assure that work is completed efficiently, profitably, and per schedule.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve/increase safety, the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and scheduling overtime staffing to meet changing schedule requirements and sales order demands.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing office process input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines.

Any changes or corrections to the product or product designs are communicated to appropriate departments and per established procedures so future product output is consistent with customer expectations.

Initiates, implements, and sustains 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and other organizational, continuous improvement, and efficiency programs within the plant.

Initiates and drives cross-training throughout his/her area of responsibility to support and enhance workforce versatility, create an agile work center and meet company goals.

Responsible for Monthly Department Safety Inspections.

Maintains and sustains 5S within the department.

Upholds and supports the Quality and EHS policy.

May manage/supervise 0-20 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned areas of responsibility within the CoE. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
