Current Opening:

This position is responsible for providing overall leadership direction to the regional office.  Commits to take initiatives to improve and maintain the overall company. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Accountabilities

  1. Culture Development
    1. Demonstrate and support core values
    2. Support company safety policies and initiatives
    3. Foster positive relationships internally and externally
    4. Maintain professional and appropriate demeanor
  1. Fiduciary Responsibility
    1. Attain 25% return on equity for the company as determined by regional forecast
    2. Review Woodruff subcontracts and purchase orders
    3. Ensure timely owner change orders, corrections to purchase orders, back charges and project closeout completion
    4. Recognize leading indicators to make necessary adjustments required to address risk
    5. Monitor and adjust monthly progress reports to ensure that financial reporting is accurate
    6. Ensure timely payment from owners within contractual terms
    7. Balancing employees, workload and type of project to maximize regional profit
  1. Employee Development
    1. Ensure all employees have necessary safety training and follow safety regulations
    2. Mentors and manages team members including time management and developing client relationships on multiple projects
    3. Provide proactive and intentional training and leadership in developing Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Field Operations Manager
    4. Develops team members by assisting with goal setting and professional development
    5. Promotes career advancement through use of the training matrix and career path
  1. Regional Alignment
    1. Support the company and promotes a team effort
    2. Share and promote best practices throughout the company
    3. Ensure use Woodruff policies and procedures
    4. Educate the region on best practices, policies and procedures done the Woodruff Way to produce quality results in relationships, construction product and financial results
    5. Monitor monthly progress through team meetings and project updates
  1. Project Development
    1. Support customer relationship building with owners by balancing the needs of Woodruff with the customer expectations around schedule, quality and cost
    2. Participate in preconstruction services
    3. Evaluate timely entrance into project contract by review of scope and appropriate contingencies to evaluate risks
    4. Review and estimate possible projects for the area
    5. Ensure best practices and strategies are carried out in the estimating and procurement process
    6. Determine amount of risk/fee the project will require and establish a bidding strategy to successfully compete against other contractors.
    7. Ensure that future overhead recoveries can be achieved by use of the forecast report at least eighteen months forward

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, or related field preferred. 
  • 8+ years’ experience in Construction Project Management.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees through complex issues.
  • Must be able to contain confidential information.
  • Work well in a team environment.
