Our family-owned 62-year company specializes in mass excavation, rock handling, underground utilities, private and public infrastructure, asphalt paving, aggregate crushing, asphalt hot plant production, and much more.  Our projects include public and private entities including ADOT, FHWA, BIA, city and county municipalities, private residential and commercial developments.

Our Shop Truck Mechanics perform diagnostic tests, routine maintenance and some large-scale repair procedures on our fleet of heavy Mack trucks and trailers.  They are essential to the safety and growth of our company.  Do you have experience in the following?

The job description for a Shop Heavy Truck Mechanic will include some aspects of a CDL Driver because you must understand how to operate the vehicles you service, repair and/or maintain. This includes, but is not limited to our fleet of Mack Trucks & Chassis, belly dump, oil tank, pneumatic and side dump trailers, Freightliner water trucks, and other miscellaneous 10 or 12 wheelers.

Basic requirements Include:

  • Preferably a class A or B CDL license.
  • Clean 5-year MVR as you may be assigned a company Mechanic’s Truck
  • Should have experience diagnosing ant test driving large CDL Class vehicles.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Working alone or with a team; shifts may vary.
  • Must be self-motivated as you will often work unsupervised.
  • All positions at Fann Contracting are considered safety sensitive which generally means that these positions involve some aspect of a heightened danger requiring an employee's full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute his or her job.

NOTE: Competitive pay is based upon experience (DOE).  Salary may typically range between 50K/yr. for candidates with less experience or up to 80K (or more) annually for a highly skilled heavy truck mechanic.   Over time is part of this calculation but these numbers do not include any annual profit-sharing bonus offered. This is a position located in our Prescott Shop Headquarters but subsistence (travel pay) of $63 to $73 per day is available if you must travel for work (ASK FOR DETAILS).
