Position Responsibilities:

  • Report to work fit for duty and support the Western Industrial Resources safety culture.
  • Follow directions.
  • Electrical craft who perform at or above a Journeyman level including but not limited to removal, repair and installation of electrical components, electrical systems analysis and diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting, and systems/process optimization.
  • Employees may mentor or train other electrical employees. 
  • Employee will work under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production.
  • Any other job duties that are required by management that pertain to this craft
  • Support Western Industrial Resources right to a drug free workplace.
  • Use and support the use of our Stop Work Authority when necessary.

 Qualifications:

  •  A positive attitude, self-motivated, eagerness to learn and a willingness to work hard every day.
  • An ability to lead by a positive example and a commitment to working as a team.
  • Attention and commitment to safety and an ability to follow instructions.
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record if assigned to a company vehicle.
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
  • Negative preemployment drug test.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment; this includes the ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company
  • Must have minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire date
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Education & Experience:

  •  Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical Program, or a minimum of six (6) years of experience in Industrial Electrical repair and maintenance, OR
  • Associate’s degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and four(4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical repair and maintenance

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move 75 pounds.
  • Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to: grasp, assemble and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders and lie down.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work outdoors with constant exposure to heat, cold, wind and rain.
