Tax Manager- Corporate Tax
This newly created position will support the Director of Tax with all income tax matters (local, state, federal) for flow through entities (both Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC (ATE LLC) – partnership return, as well as Asplundh Tree Expert Holding Co – S corp return and parent of ATE LLC). The ideal candidate will efficiently work with outside accounting firms, highlight and drive changes in systems and processes and support other projects and initiatives.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Support and assist in year-end compliance work with outside firms and assist in timely completion of all filings.
- Calculate, review and execute quarterly tax distributions to the LLC members as well as Holdco shareholders. Calculation and remittance of Non Resident withholdings and Entity level taxes on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate Tax Depreciation and Tax Gain with outside advisors, including 704b calculations.
- Interact and address questions from tax advisors for Holdco shareholders
- Ensure the income tax provision and deferred tax asset/liability is properly stated
- Assist with year-end financial statement audits as well as any corporate tax audits including international.
- Calculate State and Provincial tax apportionment for Domestic and Foreign filings.
- Coordinate Shareholder and Member composite tax elections.
- Interact with international accountants as needed regarding provisions, FIN 48 items, etc.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects
- Assist in due diligence for acquisition opportunities as well as assisting with the integration of acquired entities where applicable.
- Assist or lead special projects, including but not limited, to review of software implementation that will enable data insights and efficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS in taxation preferred but not required.
- Eight or more years of progressive tax experience required. Ideal candidate has both public accounting and private industry experience.
- Experience with partnership and flow-through entities related to federal income tax and entity level taxes.
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft suite required. Experience with OneSource income tax preferred but not required
- Experience with state and local income tax.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, possess sound judgment with the ability to learn quickly while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
