Position Overview:

Reporting to the CEO,  the  Integration Senior Project Manager (PM) provides cross-functional leadership, executive & board advice, and oversight for implementation of mergers, acquisitions, and related activities throughout a deal's life cycle. This immediately encompasses post-deal implementation, development of integration project plans, and execution of integration strategy. The PM directly manages all planning, execution, separation, integration, change management, & organizational restructuring activities related to post merger initiatives and organizational integration

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Project Management - Creating a master project plan for Integration activities; Analyzing and documenting project objectives and requirements across the organization; Facilitating activities across functional and business teams to scope projects; Identifying resource and staffing requirements; Articulating deliverables and developing timetables; Creating consolidated project milestones, interdependencies and communication plans; Coordinating efforts of internal process owners and subject matter experts; Facilitating working sessions to define transition plans, activities, and contingency plans to eliminate obstacles to on-time and on-budget completion of the various project transition events.
  • Synergy/Budget Tracking and Reporting - Collaborating with the Finance and Executive teams to diligently execute & achieve plans for synergy achievement and associated budgets; Confirming synergy and budget tracking tools and templates for use across the integration teams; Defining process and timelines for ongoing tracking and reporting activities; Collecting, refining and consolidating synergy/budget data for integration team and executive reporting.
  • Overall Program Tracking and Reporting - Defining the time, tools, and processes for collecting updates across the integration team relating to progress on key activities (deliverable completion, issues, decision status, etc.); Reviewing data and identifying areas that require additional investigation and follow up with the business; Consolidating data for review during integration and subsequently refining for executive reporting purposes; Facilitating working committee discussions and identifying issues, risks and key decisions that require escalation to the Executive Team and/or Integration Leadership Team; Conducting periodic checkpoint meetings upon completion of each integration phase or key activities within a phase to review outputs and confirm readiness to move forward to the next phase.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Very strong project management skills especially in executive stakeholder management & best practice advising.
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Efficiently synthesizes complex issues into succinct summaries for senior managers.
  • Comfortable managing multiple project simultaneously.
  • Involved in making complex decisions which may have company-wide impact.
  • Uses judgment to balance and make tradeoffs on multiple priorities and makes recommendations to management around priority setting/planning.
  • Proven ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Solid organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deliverables and expectations, while working independently.
  • Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications in support of project management tasks, including Microsoft Project and Visio.
  • Ability to travel in the US
  • Ability to work hours outside or normal workday

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Master's level degree preferred, PMP certification required
  • Minimum 7 years of post-merger integration related experience at a top tier consulting firm or employed in such capacity at a corporate development team
  • Scope of experience should include providing post-merger integration services to clients, including project management, strategy planning and deployment, risk management and project development
  • Experience must include coordinating multi-site projects with multi-year implementations preferred, using standard project management methodologies.
