WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Provides first level support to internal and external customers for work management software suite and associated programs relating to work unit identification, data input, and invoice reconciliation for vegetation management activities relating to the utility transmission network.
  • Track defects within production processes and performs root cause analysis for functional issues to develop checklist for recurring problems.
  • Works to solve organizational problems by analyzing processes, workflows and planning activities to identify opportunities for automation or improvement.
  • Inputs, tracks, and monitors vegetation-related relay and sustained circuit outages into Work Studio and provides metrics to the Reliability and Performance Standards Team monthly.
  • Act as a liaison under the utility Information Technology group to work with management software providers to provide timely deliverables, requested upgrades, user licensing allocation, troubleshooting issues, and software implementation to ensure system functionality and continuity.
  • Maintains user rosters and updated permissions to ensure IT security and integrity of the utility networks.
  • Provides training assistance and planning guidance to work management software desktop, tablet, and thin client users in both office and field environments.
  • Maintains metrics, analyzes statistical data, and makes recommendations for budget corrections based on trend analysis.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.


WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • 5+ years’ experience administering a multi-user work management software program with an emphasis on bettering the end user experience.
  • Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), programming and cartography including analyzing spatial data through mapping software and other data sets.
  • Knowledge of database language such as SQL.
  • Proven work experience as a software Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in maintaining a production related software for large number of users.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer interface skills and experience.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, GIS.


WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:

  • Degree in computer science, geography, surveying, engineering, or related field.
  • GIS and Database entry skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of utility forestry, logging or agricultural maintenance a plus.
  • Being Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Working Environment

Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions. Physical

The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk up to 10 miles per day, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movement in the performance of daily duties (e.g., forcefully beat down brush); carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. (sandbags); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.
