We are currently seeking qualified individuals to fill a Mechanic position in our shop located in Exeter, Nebraska

Responsibilities:

As a member of our team your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting yourself in an appropriate manner, working effectively in a diverse work environment, using judgment at all times, performing duties in a safe manner, and assuring professional quality of services to all external and internal customers.
  • Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment which includes required inspections as well as annual Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections; including but not limited to servicing, tire changes, electrical, maintenance, etc.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork, including but not limited to; repair orders, service truck logs, core and warranty tags, and parts slips.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs job responsibilities in a garage/shop environment and in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Working safely at all times. 

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid operator’s license with a satisfactory driving background.
  • Prefer at least three (3) years of experience in construction equipment or transportation equipment maintenance or education/degree in a closely-related area.  We are willing to train the right candidate with strong aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical principles for diesel and gas engines, fluid systems, electrical, power train, chassis, and preventive maintenance inspections and applications.
  • CDL Class A OR B – Strongly preferred but not required – we will train you.
  • Highly attentive to detail.
  • Sound judgment and problem solving skills to make reasonable and appropriate decisions and recommendations.
  • Efficiently manage time and workload which includes prioritizing, organizing, and following through on a variety of tasks, assignments, and projects to meet deadlines.
  • Background in Welding (Helpful).
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift 75 pounds, ability to stoop, bend, climb and crawl without restrictions and must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Driven to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Travel - occasionally as may be needed.
  • Work weekends as needed during periods of high demand.
